I'm looking for a USB Modem that can be used in India and the United States, by switching SIM cards to take advantage of local cell phone plans.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Get an unlocked Sierra USB Modem. You can get great deals on the USB Connect 881 modem. It is a little larger than the current modems, but has great reception, supports the current technology world wide. If you get an unlocked ATT one, download the 3g Watcher software from Sierra's website. It supports virtually every carrier in the world.

You can find these modems on E-Bay for under $100.
