I wonder if there are any other people out there like me. I don't even use the minimum minutes per month for voice. I always have a surplus of minutes. But I would use a smart phone with broadband connection. It seems that with all of the smart phone plans I would be overcharged for the voice part. I need a plan for a bare minimum for voice minutes and a lot of web time, but I can't seem to find one. Does anyone have any suggestions?

With many service providers you can have an unlimited data plan with not a lot of voice minutes. For example, I think the min for Verizon is 450 min a month.

Some carriers have stand alone data plans for smartphones with pay per use for voice.

cheapest route would be getting a Virgin Mobile prepaid android phone for $25/month. unl data and text, and 300 minutes for voice.

OR go to Sprintrelay.com, thats Sprint's site for the deaf or hard of hearing and they offer a data and text only plan for $29.99... then you can use skype or google voice on the data part for any calls you need to make. Skype has a $2.99/month unlimited US calling plan.
