Ugh! Sorry, I have a multi-part question. I just don't know how to search for all of this.

I currently have AT&T. All I have is a standard voice package, AND unlimited texting. No data package - AT ALL.

Now... Few questions:
1) If I purchase an unlocked phone, do I have to register it with AT&T? Or can I just slip in my SIM card and that's it.
2) If I purchase this unlocked phone, if its a "data phone" as well, can I still use it to just TALK and TEXT only? I know if I try to use the data feature, it probably won't work in that aspect, but will it work as just "talk and text"?
3) If the phone has wi-fi built in, can I use it on my home wi-fi network even without a "data package"?

From my understanding of this, if you purchase an unlocked phoen you should be able to just insert the SIM card. I believe talk and text will work without a data plan. You can use WiFi without a data package, you can even use WiFi without any cell phone service at all.
