So I found a good phone, but it has only 2G GSM, and it's all good, but I've heard that 2G is painfully slow, but if I use Wi-Fi for browsing the internet, will it be faster? I mean does Wi-Fi kinda disable 2G, when I use it?

If your phone support the wifi options then it will be fine to use the wifi with the 2g phone.
