Chomp SMS in the android market
If you download the latest rom from XDA a virtual keyboard is included for everything.Last edited by carlosc; 04-20-2009 at 04:29 PM. Reason: Auto-merged Double post

Re: texting without sliding out keyboard
Never really liked virtual keyboards but I make the assumption I will use it for smaller texts to not have to open my phone.

I didnt like chomp sms it was hard to type on. Hopefully they make something better. I think when the g2 comes out android will have a built in one because of the lack of a keyboard hopefully we can just port that over to our systems.

Re: texting without sliding out keyboard
Go ahead and get the G1. I am telling you one of the things you get with the 1.5 update is the onscreen keyboard. It will allow you to use onscreen in portrait and landscape. When you rotate the phone, the keyboard rotates with the phone and screen. If you still want to use the keyboard, you can just simply slide it open while typing and take over with the keyboard. You'll like it.
