Restore Applications:

  1. Ensure your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network
  2. Tap "Apps" on the home screen
  3. Go to "Settings"
  4. Swipe to "Personal" and tap "Backup and reset"
  5. Tap "Restore from HTC backup" and follow the on-screen self-explanatory steps

Restore Contacts:

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Swipe to "Personal"
  3. Tap "Accounts & sync"
  4. Add the Google account containing your contacts, if necessary
  5. Press "Menu" and tap "Sync all"

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the HTC One M9 to your computer using the USB connector
  2. In the AutoPlay window, choose to "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  3. Launch a second Windows Explorer window and locate the media files backed up on your HDD
  4. Copy the files and paste them on your HTC One M9 in the first Windows Explorer window
  5. Once the transfer is done, click "Safely Remove Hardware" > "Eject" from the system tray
  6. Disconnect your smartphone

Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

  1. Connect the M9 to your Mac via USB
  2. On the Mac, double-click the virtual drive icon representing the smartphone on the desktop
  3. Launch the file explorer on the Mac and locate the backed up media files
  4. Copy the files and transfer them to your phone
  5. After the transfer is done, drag and drop the virtual drive icon into "Trash / Eject"
  6. Safely disconnect your smartphone from the Mac
