Restore Applications:
- Ensure your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network
- Tap "Apps" on the home screen
- Go to "Settings"
- Swipe to "Personal" and tap "Backup and reset"
- Tap "Restore from HTC backup" and follow the on-screen self-explanatory steps
Restore Contacts:
- Access the phone's "Settings" menu
- Swipe to "Personal"
- Tap "Accounts & sync"
- Add the Google account containing your contacts, if necessary
- Press "Menu" and tap "Sync all"
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC One M9 to your computer using the USB connector
- In the AutoPlay window, choose to "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Launch a second Windows Explorer window and locate the media files backed up on your HDD
- Copy the files and paste them on your HTC One M9 in the first Windows Explorer window
- Once the transfer is done, click "Safely Remove Hardware" > "Eject" from the system tray
- Disconnect your smartphone
Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Connect the M9 to your Mac via USB
- On the Mac, double-click the virtual drive icon representing the smartphone on the desktop
- Launch the file explorer on the Mac and locate the backed up media files
- Copy the files and transfer them to your phone
- After the transfer is done, drag and drop the virtual drive icon into "Trash / Eject"
- Safely disconnect your smartphone from the Mac
