Enable Power Saver Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to "Settings" and swipe to "Phone"
  3. Tap "Power" > "Power saver"
  4. Check or uncheck the boxes next to the features you want to enable or disable while Power Saver mode is active
  5. Tap the switch associated with "Power saver" and set it to "ON"

Decrease the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Scroll to "Phone" and tap "Display & gestures"
  3. Tap "Brightness level" and clear "Automatic brightness"
  4. Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease brightness
  5. Go back to "Display & gestures" and tap "Screen timeout"
  6. Select a lower timeout value such as "15 seconds"

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth and GPS:

NOTE: You can disable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS whenever these features are not in use in order to further improve battery life on the long run. To do so:

  1. Tap "Apps" and go to "Settings"
  2. Tap the switches associated with "Bluetooth" and "Wi-Fi", setting them to "OFF"
  3. Go to "More" > "Mobile network sharing"
  4. Disable "Mobile Hotspot"
  5. Return to the "Settings" menu and under "Personal", tap "Location"
  6. Tap "More" and select "Battery saving"

Change Sync Settings for Apps and Disable Background Data:

NOTE: You can prolong your phone's battery performance by syncing less app data or syncing less often, and also by disabling background data.

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Tap "Accounts & sync" and select your account
  3. Enable or disable the available sync options for each account
  4. To disable background data, go back to the selected app and choose to disable background data

Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:

NOTE: Certain third party apps can affect your phone's battery life even if you don't use them. This is because these apps can run processes in the background. As such you should consider disabling or removing third party apps that are rarely or never used.

  1. Tap "Apps" on the home screen
  2. Access "Settings" and tap "Apps" under "Phone"
  3. Under the "Downloaded" tab, select the desired app
  4. Tap "Disable", or tap "Uninstall" if necessary
  5. Tap "OK"

Switch from 4G to 2G Connectivity:

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Go to "mobile data" and tap "Network mode"
  3. Tap "GSM only" to restrict connectivity to 2G
  4. Tap "WCDMA only" for 3G connectivity
  5. To restore 4G LTE select "GSM / WCDMA auto" or "GSM / WCDMA / LTE auto"

Check for Software Updates:

NOTE: New software updates can sometimes include improvements to battery life, thus it is recommended that you keep your phone up to date. You can check for new software updates by performing the following:

  1. Go to "Settings"
  2. Scroll down to "About" and tap "Phone"
  3. Tap "Software information"
  4. Press "Check now". If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply it
