Back Up App Data:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings
  3. Tap “Backup and reset” under “Personal
  4. If necessary, tap “Backup account” > “Google account” > “Add account” and sign in with your Google account
  5. Enable “Back up my data” and “Backup account

Back Up Contacts:

  1. First, ensure that the phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network
  2. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  3. Open “Settings
  4. Swipe to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset
  5. Tap “Backup account” and select “HTC Account” or “Google account
  6. Enable “Automatic backup” to allow daily automatic contact backups over Wi-Fi
  7. To back up contacts manually, tap “Back up now

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the HTC One A9 and computer
  2. Swipe the status bar down on the home screen, and connect the phone as a “Media device (MTP)
  3. On the computer, launch an Explorer window
  4. Navigate to, and locate the media files on your phone
  5. Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer
  6. Once the transfer is complete, click the mass storage device icon in the system tray and eject the phone storage
  7. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB

Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

  1. Connect the One A9 to the Mac via USB
  2. Open the file explorer on the Mac
  3. Locate the media files on the phone storage
  4. Copy the desired files and transfer them on your computer
  5. Once the backup is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop into the “trash can / eject” icon
  6. Once ejected, safely disconnect the phone from the USB cable
