Back Up App Data:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Tap “Backup and reset” under “Personal”
- If necessary, tap “Backup account” > “Google account” > “Add account” and sign in with your Google account
- Enable “Back up my data” and “Backup account”
Back Up Contacts:
- First, ensure that the phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Swipe to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
- Tap “Backup account” and select “HTC Account” or “Google account”
- Enable “Automatic backup” to allow daily automatic contact backups over Wi-Fi
- To back up contacts manually, tap “Back up now”
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the HTC One A9 and computer
- Swipe the status bar down on the home screen, and connect the phone as a “Media device (MTP)”
- On the computer, launch an Explorer window
- Navigate to, and locate the media files on your phone
- Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer
- Once the transfer is complete, click the mass storage device icon in the system tray and eject the phone storage
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Connect the One A9 to the Mac via USB
- Open the file explorer on the Mac
- Locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy the desired files and transfer them on your computer
- Once the backup is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop into the “trash can / eject” icon
- Once ejected, safely disconnect the phone from the USB cable
