Back Up App Data:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Tap “Backup and reset” under “Personal”
- If necessary, sign in with your Google account. Tap “Backup account” > “Google account” > “Add account”
- Enable “Back up my data” and “Backup account”
Back Up Contacts:
- Ensure the phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen and go to “Settings”
- Swipe to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
- Tap “Backup account” and select “HTC Account” or “Google account”
- Enable “Automatic Backup” if you want the device to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi
- To manually back up contacts, tap “Back up now”
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the One M9s and computer
- Drag the “Status” bar down and make sure the connection is set to “disk drive” or “Media device (MTP)”
- Launch an Explorer window on the computer
- Locate and copy the media files on your phone
- Navigate to the desired backup location on your computer and transfer the files
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray
- Safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Connect the One M9s to your Mac via USB
- Ensure the connection is set to “Media device” or “disk drive”
- Launch the file explorer on the Mac and locate the desired media files on the phone
- Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the Mac storage
- After the transfer is done, drag the phone’s virtual drive in to the “Trash can” icon to eject it
- Safely disconnect the device from the USB connector
