So Cingular and HTC come up with a newer version of my Cingular 8125, but there’s something wrong. It’s ALSO HUGE and there’s no front camera. The device was expected to be in the large range because it’s more than just a phone of course, but HTC could have decreased the size significantly while keeping the keyboard intact. You will see the next version of this 8000 series will be substantially smaller and customers will be shooting themselves in the foot when the finally realize it. Also, Cingular hasn’t integrated the front camera in a lot of their phones because they’re slow and lazy. I believe their infrastructure can’t fully handle the load if there’s an instant trend towards video conferencing tomorrow and this explains their primitive nature. Yet again, Cingular is one step behind other major phone carriers. They introduced Answertones late, Push-to-Talk late, in addition to other network features which are standard with other phone companies. Well, back to the phone. The phone is basically the same size as the previous 8125, but it’s rounded which makes the crowds go, “oooh that’s cool”. No it’s not. Lets see if they compensate for the less talk time because of the faster processor. I sure hope so. Americans want everything fast but they also want battery life so they can talk all day and seem important. This phone will make them do that if they wave it from left to right like it’s a remote control. On the other hand, the color is nice but I’m sure the oversall size can be decreased.

The most important feature I look for in phones these days is GPS. I’m not sure if it has a built-in GPS. If it doesn’t then it’s not worth it. If you spent $400+, almost $500 with tax, then you would expect that your device could save your life in the need of an emergency. The GPS feature is a must and I haven’t heard a lot of buzz about it being included. If it is, then I’m wrong and I will quickly correct this article. If not, don’t spend your money on a huge rock that can’t locate itself. The best phone on the market belongs to Nokia, as expected, and it has GPS. Currently, the top phone on the market is the Nokia N95. It’s lighter, sexier, and it runs the Symbian Operating System which dominates the mobile phone market.
