News: Vodafone HTC Desire gets Froyo 2.2 today

Although HTC released an update a few weeks ago for the Desire, the update was not the Froyo 2.2 but an update that added Vodafone's 360 services to their HTC Desire. Many HTC Desire customers thought this may have been the Froyo update but it wasn't. But the good news is, Vodafone has announced that the HTC Desire will receive the Froyo 2.2 upgrade today in phases and should take about two weeks to completely roll out the upgrade which could mean for some, September 5th would be the latest some will receive the upgrade.

Your HTC Desire should notify you of the update as it comes across the air and will give you a chance to install it. The previous upgrade, the 360 services, can be uninstalled once you receive the Froyo 2.2 update and Vodafone has instructions on just how to do that.

Vodafone 360 services will still be available for those who want it and you don't have to get rid of the 360 services but an optional 360 update for the Desire will come later.
