A long, long time has passed since the Android 2.2 Froyo update has made it onto unlocked, SIM-free, sans carrier branding HTC Desire smartphones. A long time even passed since most carriers have issued the update for the HTC Desire handsets they’ve sold.
But only now do Virgin Mobile’s HTC Desire phones finally start to receive their taste of Froyo. The update has been finished and has started to get pushed to owners of Virgin branded Desires over the air. If you have a Desire from Virgin, your phone will let you know that there’s an update available - so go from there.
In case you forgot, this update brings 720p video recording, Flash Player 10.1 support and many other goodies. Of course, your happiness may only last until Google decides to officially unveil Android 2.3 Gingerbread, when the wait shall begin again.
