VPN (Virtual Private Network) Management

Adding a VPN Connection:

Note: before being able to set up VPN, you will first need to set a lock screen PIN or password

  1. Open the Notifications panel
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Under "Wireless & Networks", press "More"
  4. Tap "VPN" and then select "Add VPN network"
  5. Enter the VPN settings according to the security details provided by the network administrator
  6. Tap "Save"

Connecting to a VPN:

  1. Open the Notifications panel and tap "Settings"
  2. Press "More" under "Wireless & Networks"
  3. Tap "VPN"
  4. Select the "VPN" that you wish to connect to
  5. Enter the log in credentials, then tap "Connect"

Disconnecting from a VPN:

  1. Open the Notifications panel
  2. Tap the "VPN" connection to go to the VPN settings screen
  3. Tap the "VPN connection" to disconnect from it


Data Connection Management

Enabling / Disabling Data Connection:

  1. Open the Notifications panel
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Tap the "Mobile Network On/Off" switch to enable or disable data connection

Checking the Data Connection You're Using:

  1. 1 In the Notifications panel, tap "Settings"
  2. 2 Tap "Mobile network"
  3. 3 Press "Network operators" or "Access Point Names"

Adding a New Access Point:

  1. In the Notifications panel, tap "Settings"
  2. Tap "Mobile network" > "Access Point Names"
  3. Tap the "menu" icon on the APNs screen, then tap "New APN"
  4. Go to the "Edit access point" screen, and enter the APN settings. To edit an APN setting, tap it
  5. Once the changes are done, tap "menu" and press "Save"

Keeping Track of Data Usage:

  1. Open the Notifications panel and tap "Settings"
  2. Tap "More" under "Wireless & Networks"
  3. Tap "Usage"
  4. In the "Mobile" tab, tap "Limit mobile data usage" to automatically disable data connection when the device reaches a set limit
  5. To set a limit, drag the "LIMIT" line and set it as you desire
  6. Drag the "ALERT" line in the desired location
  7. Tap "Reset data usage" and set the day on which the usage graph will be reset on a monthly basis

Note: the phone's method of measuring data usage may differ from the one used by the carrier, so it's strongly recommended that you set a limit that is a bit lower than your actual data allowance.

Viewing the Data Usage of Apps:

To monitor which apps use more data:

  1. Open the Notifications panel > "Settings"
  2. Under "Wireless & Networks", press "More"
  3. Tap "Usage"
  4. Scroll down to see the list of apps and their data usage. Tap an app to see more details
