Friend Stream allows you to share and view updates from your friends from social networks in a single feed.

In Friend Stream, when you tap a person's status update you can:

  • Write a comment
  • Like Facebook posts
  • View a person's album photos

If you tap someone's name or photo you can:

  • Check the person's profile details
  • View the person's Facebook wall

Note: to display posts from one social network in particular, tap the icon depicting a triangle pointing downwards.

Updating Your Status in Friend Stream:

  1. Access the "All" tab and tap the "+" icon
  2. Type in your status update
  3. Assuming that you wish to send the status update on more or less social networks, tap the "menu" icon and then mark or unmark the desired social networks
  4. Press "Done"
  5. Tap the "attach" button depicting a paperclip if you wish to attach a file to your update
  6. Press "Post"


Using Facebook Via Friend Stream

Posting a Message on a Facebook Friend's Wall:

  1. In Friend stream, tap the arrow (triangle) down icon
  2. Tap "Facebook"
  3. Tap "+" and select "My Wall"
  4. Select a friend from the list
  5. Type in your message then press "Post"

Commenting on and Liking Facebook Posts:

  1. Tap a person's status update while in the "All" tab and then do one of the following:
    • Like the person's status update
    • Tap a photo or the album name in the status update to leave a comment using the Gallery app
    • Tap the text box to leave a comment on the person's status update

Checking In to a Place:

Note: before being able to let your Facebook friends where you have checked in, you will need to go to the Settings menu > "Location" and enable location resources.

  1. In the "Locations tab" tap the icon depicting a map pin
  2. Select the place from the list
  3. Tap "Check in"
  4. Add your status message. Optionally, you can tag your friends that have checked in with you
  5. Tap "Check in"


Using Twitter Via Friend Stream

Tweeting in Friend Stream:

  1. While in Friend Stream, tap the arrow (triangle) down icon and tap "Twitter for HTC Sense"
  2. Tap "+"
  3. Write your tweet
  4. You can tap the "attachment" icon to add a picture, or the GPS icon if you wish to include your location in the tweet
  5. When ready, tap "Post"

Searching for Twitter Users to Follow:

  1. While in Friend Stream, tap the "Search" icon in any of the tabs
  2. Type in a Twitter name and tap the "Search" icon again
  3. In the list of results, select the Twitter user that you wish to follow
  4. Tap the "menu" icon and press "Follow"

Note: to unfollow a Twitter user, while viewing the "All tweets" tab, select the desired Twitter user, tap "menu" and then select "Unfollow"

Sending a Direct Message:

  1. While viewing the "DMs" tab, press "+"
  2. Tap the "To" bar and select the desired recipient
  3. Enter the desired message, then tap "Post"

Replying to, or Retweeting a Tweet:

  1. While viewing the "All tweets" tab, select the tweet that you wish to reply to or retweet
  2. Perform one of the following actions:
    • Tap "Retweet"
    • Tap "Reply" and then type in your reply, then tap "Post"
