Gmail Management
Using the Gmail App to Send an Email:
- Access the Gmail app and go to the inbox
- Tap the "New email" icon depicted as an envelope next to a "+" sign
- Enter the recipient(s)s in the appropriate field. Note: tap the "Menu" icon (depicting three vertical dots) and select "Add Cc/Bcc" if you wish to create a carbon copy or blind carbon copy of the message
- Type the subject in the appropriate field and compose your message
- To add a photo or a file, press "Menu" and select the type of attachment
- Tap "Send" when ready
Replying to or Forwarding an Email in Gmail:
- Access the Gmail Inbox and select the desired email message
- To reply to the sender, tap the "reply" button, or tap the "Menu" button and press "Reply all" or "Forward", depending on what you wish to do
- If replying to the email, type in the reply and tap "Send"
- If forwarding a message, specify the recipient(s) and tap "Send"
Using the HTC Sense Mail App
Getting to Know the Mail App:
- Open the "Mail" app
- Access an Inbox and perform one of the following actions:
- Tap an email message to read it
- Tap the email account bar to select a different account
- Tap the "Menu" button > "Folder" to display messages in another mail folder
- To view all email messages from all of your email accounts, tap the account bar and select "All accounts"
- More Email settings can be found by pressing "Menu" > "Settings"
Sending an Email Message:
- Open the Mail application
- Switch to the desired email account
- Tap the "+" button to start composing a new email
- Enter the desired recipients. To create a carbon copy or blind carbon copy, tap "Menu" and press "Show Cc/Bcc"
- Type in the subject in the "Subject" line, and compose your message
- To attach a file, tap the "Attachment" icon depicting a paperclip and select the desired file
- To set priority for an important message, tap the "Menu" button > "Set priority"
- Press the "Send" button when ready to send the message, press the "Back" button to save the message as draft
Resuming a Draft Email Message:
- Access the Email app
- Tap the "Menu" button and select "Folder" > "Drafts"
- Select the desired message
- Finish editing the message and press "Send"
Moving Email Messages to a Different Folder:
- Switch to the email account that you wish to use
- Select the message that you wish to move. Alternatively, tap "Menu" and press "Select all" to select all of the messages
- Tap "Move to" and select a folder
Deleting Email Messages:
- Access the Email app and the desired email account
- Select the messages that you wish to delete, or, to select all, tap "Menu" > "Select all"
- Press "Delete"
Searching for Emails From a Contact:
- Access the Email app and go to the desired email account
- Tap and hold an email message from a contact
- Tap "Search the mail from the sender" to view a list of email messages sent by the selected contact
Exchange ActiveSync Management
Adding an Email Account:
- Open the "Mail" app
- Press the "Menu" button and tap "Add account"
- Select an email account type from the list, or tap "Other (POP3/IMAP)"
- Type in the email address and password of your email account
- Press "Next"
- Enter the name for your email account, and tap "Finish setup"
Setting an Out of Office Status:
- Switch to the desired Exchange ActiveSync account
- Press the "Menu" button and tap "Out of office"
- Select the current office status
- Select "Out of the office"
- Set the dates and times, then enter the auto-reply message
- If you wish a different auto-reply message for recipes that are outside of your organization, tap "Send replies to external senders" and then enter the message in the box
- Tap "Save"
Sending a Meeting Request:
- Access your Exchange ActiveSync account
- Press "Menu" > "New meeting invitation"
- Enter the meeting details and tap "Save" or "Send"
