I'm thinking of getting a HTC Mytouch 4g; can someone please tell me if it's possible to have "user accounts" on it? What I mean is if it's possible for two people to use the phone but have separate (and private) contacts, pictures, etc?
If not, is it at least possible to enable use of the "call function" but keep everything else locked (pics, texts, contacts, etc)? Thanks in advance!

Re: HTC Mytouch 4g Privacy
Hi Selkirk,
As far as I know, Android smartphones don't offer the possibility of creating multiple user accounts. Only certain tablets offer this option.
However, you might still be able to lock certain parts of your phone from unwanted access, with the help of applications.
There's "Gallery Lock" which hides photos, or you can give Perfect App Protector(AppLock) a try. It appears that the latter gives you the option of password protecting any application, including SMS etc. However (and I'm guessing here), there might be an issue with having "Call function" but locking contacts at the same time. In case the "dialer" is basically the same app as "Contacts", then the app might not be able to block the contacts section, without affecting the dialer. I'm not sure, I haven't tried.
In other words, out of the box the HTC myTouch 4G won't offer you the possibility for multiple user accounts, but you might get around your problem by using 3rd party applications.
Hope this helped.
