Checking the Amount of Free SD Storage:

  1. While viewing the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Swipe to "Phone" and then tap "Storage"
  4. The "Available" storage value is being displayed under "SD Card"

Formatting the SD Card:

WARNING! Keep in mind that formatting the SD card will result in the deletion of all data stored on it. This includes custom ringtones, downloaded content, contacts and more. If necessary, backup your data before proceeding. To format the SD Card:

  1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Swipe to "SD Card" and then tap "Format SD Card"
  4. Tap "Erase SD Card" again from the pop-up message
  5. From the message, read the info and then tap "Erase Everything" to confirm

Deleting and / or Opening Files Located on the SD Card

Opening / Deleting Files Using the Smartphone:

  1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
  2. Open the "My Files" app
  3. Tap "All files > "SD memory card"
  4. Locate the file / folder that you wish to open or delete
  5. Tap the desired file to open it
  6. To delete it, mark its check box and then tap the "trash can" icon
  7. Tap "OK" to confirm

Opening or Deleting Files on the SD Card Using a Windows Computer:

  1. Establish a connection between the HTC Desire 210 and computer via USB
  2. On the smartphone, swipe the "Status" bar down using two fingers
  3. Tap "USB Connected" > "Connect USB storage"
  4. From the AutoPlay window on your computer, click "Open folder to view files"
  5. Click "OK" and locate the desired files from the SD Card
  6. Double click an item to open it
  7. To delete a file, right-click it and then click "Delete", or left-click to select it and press the "Delete" key on your keyboard
  8. When ready, click the "Removable Storage" icon from the system tray and safely disconnect your smartphone from the computer

Transferring Files Between a Computer and the SD Card

Transferring Files Using a Mac Computer:

  1. Install HTC Sync Manager on the Mac, if necessary
  2. Connect the Desire 210 to your Mac via USB
  3. In the HTC Sync Manager window that should pop-up on the Mac, follow the prompts to manage the files stored on the SD card

Transferring Files between a Windows Computer and the SD Memory:

  1. Connect the HTC Desire 210 to your PC via USB
  2. Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "USB Connected" > "Connect USB storage"
  3. An AutoPlay window on your computer should pop-up. From there, click "Open folder to view files"
  4. Locate the desired files stored on the SD card
  5. Transfer the files between the SD card and the computer's HDD freely, as you desire
  6. Once the process has finished, tap "Disconnect storage from PC" on the handset
  7. It's now safe to disconnect your smartphone from the computer

Changing the Default Storage Location

NOTE: Most applications are set to store data on the internal storage by default. Nevertheless, you can set these applications to store data on the SD card instead.

Changing the Storage Settings for the "Internet" App:

  1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
  2. Open the "internet" application
  3. Press "Menu" and tap "Settings"
  4. Go to "Advanced" and then tap "Download storage"
  5. Select "Storage Card"

Changing the Storage Location for the "Camera" Application:

  1. Launch the "Camera" app
  2. Press "Menu" and then tap "Settings"
  3. Touch "Storage"
  4. Select "SD card" to set the "Camera" app to store data on the external memory

Changing the Storage Location for the "Voice Recorder":

  1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
  2. Open "Voice Recorder"
  3. Tap "Menu" and go to "Settings"
  4. Tap "Storage" and select "SD Card"
