Check the Amount of SD Storage:
- While viewing the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Access the "Settings" screen
- Swipe to "Phone" and then tap "Storage"
- Under "SD Card", you can check the "Available" value
Formatting the SD Card:
WARNING! When you format the SD card all the data stored on it will be removed, including contacts, downloaded content, audio files etc. Before proceeding you may want to back up your data. To format the SD Card:
- Open the apps drawer and go to "Settings"
- Swipe to "SD Card" and tap "Format SD Card"
- Tap "Erase SD Card"
- At the pop-up, tap "Erase Everything" to confirm
Opening or Deleting SD Card Files
Deleting SD Card Files using the Smartphone:
- Tap "Apps" while you view a home screen
- Access "Settings" and swipe to "Phone'
- Tap "Storage", go to "SD Card" and tap "SD memory card"
- Tap "Make more space"
- Select "Browser", "Gallery", "Music" or "Miscellaneous"
- Mark the check boxes next to the items you wish to remove
- Lastly, tap "Delete" and press "OK" to confirm
Opening or Deleting Files Using a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC Desire EYE to your computer via USB
- Swipe the "Status" bar down
- Tap "USB Connected" > "Connect USB storage"
- In the AutoPlay window on the computer, click to "Open folder to view files"
- Locate the files stored on your SD card
- To open a file / folder, double-click it
- Right-click an item ant click "Delete" to remove it
- When you're done, click the "Removable mass storage device" icon from the system tray
- Eject the phone's storage and safely disconnect your phone from the computer
Transferring Files Between the SD and a Computer
On a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC Desire EYE to your PC via USB
- Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "USB connected" > "Connect USB storage"
- In the AutoPlay window on the computer, click to browse the phone's files and folders
- Access the SD card directory and navigate to the desired files
- Transfer the desired files between the PC and SD card
- After you're done with the transfer, tap "Disconnect storage from PC"
- It's now safe to disconnect your smartphone
On a Mac Computer:
- If necessary, Install HTC Sync Manager on the Mac
- Connect the Desire EYE to the Mac using the USB connector
- When HTC Sync Manager auto-launches, follow the on-screen prompts to view and manage the files stored on the SD Card
Changing the App Storage Location
NOTE: Most pre-loaded applications such as the "Camera" or "Internet" apps will store data (photos, downloaded items etc.) on the phone's internal memory by default. You can change this setting for each app individually, in order to use the SD card storage instead.
Storage Settings - Internet App:
- Tap "Apps" from the home screen
- Launch the "Internet" app
- Press "Menu" and go to "Settings"
- Tap "Advanced" > "Download storage"
- Select "Storage card"
Storage Settings - Camera App:
- Open the "Camera" application
- Press "Menu" in the viewfinder and tap "Settings"
- Go to "Storage" and select "SD Card"
Storage Settings - Voice Recorder App:
- Open the apps drawer and launch the "Voice Recorder"
- Press "Menu" and then tap "Settings"
- Tap "Storage" and select "SD Card"
