Back Up Your Phone to Google Drive:
- On the home screen, drag the Status bar down
- Go to Settings
- Tap Backup & reset > Backup account
- Tap HTC Account
- Sign in with your HTC account (alternatively you can use a Facebook or Google account)
- Tap Google Drive > OK in the Cloud Storage menu
- Sign in to you Google account to access Google Drive
- Optionally enable the Automatic backup feature
- To manually back up data, tap Back up now
NOTE: You can set your phone to create daily backups over Wi-Fi by going to Settings > Back up phone daily over Wi-Fi
Restore Data from Google Drive:
- After rebooting your device following a master reset, tap Restore from HTC Backup
- Register the account used for the backup
- Go to the history menu and select the desired backup
- Tap Next and when prompted, register your Google account
- Allow HTC Backup to connect to Google Drive and tap Next to restore the files
Back Up & Restore Data Locally
Back Up Contacts:
- Open Phone
- Access the People tab
- Press Menu > Manage contacts
- Tap Import / Export contacts > Export to SD card
- Tap Export to SD card / Export to phone storage
- Select the account you want to use for the backup
- To set a backup password tap Yes
- Tap OK
Restore Contacts:
- Launch People
- Press Menu > Manage Contacts
- Tap Import / Export contacts > Import contacts from phone storage (or SD if applicable)
- Select an account if necessary
- Tap the desired backup file > OK
- If the backup is protected by a password, enter it and tap OK
Back Up Messages:
- Launch Messages
- Tap Menu > Backup / Restore SMS
- Tap Back up > Back up SMS
- Set a password for the backup file (optional)
- Enter the backup files name and tap OK
Back Up Text Messages via Email:
- Open Messages
- Press Menu > Back up / Restore SMS
- Tap Back up > Back up SMS via email
- Optionally, set a password for the file
- Make sure the email contains the backup file as an attachment
- Send the email to your own address
NOTE: To restore messages via email, open the email containing the attachment, download the file, and import its contents via Messages
Back Up / Restore Tasks:
- Open Tasks and press Menu
- Tap Import / Export > Export to SD card
- To restore tasks, open Tasks
- Press Menu > Import / Export > Import from SD card
- Select the backup file and if necessary, follow the on-screen prompts
Back Up Your Dictionary:
- Go to the phones Settings menu
- Tap Language & Keyboard
- Tap HTC Sense Input > Personal dictionary
- Press Menu > Back up to storage
- Tap Back up to email > OK
Restore Dictionaries:
- Access Settings
- Tap Languages & Keyboard"
- Tap HTC Sense Input > Personal dictionary
- Press Menu > Restore from storage
- Tap OK to confirm
