Sync iPhone Contacts with Google via iTunes:

NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer with an active Internet connection, you can sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. Then, you can sync the account data with the HTC Desire 825.

  1. Launch iTunes on the computer
  2. Connect the iPhone to your PC via USB
  3. Once connected, click the iPhone in iTunes
  4. Access the “Info” tab and turn on “Sync Contacts With
  5. From the drop-down menu, select “Google Contacts
  6. Sign in with your Google account or click “Configure” and select an existing account if applicable
  7. Click “Apply” to begin the sync
  8. Once the sync is complete, switch to the HTC Desire 825, register the same Google account used in iTunes, and allow it to sync contacts with your Android device

Share Contacts From an iCloud Backup:

NOTE: In case your iPhone contacts have already been backed up to iCloud, you can access your iCloud account on a computer connected to the Internet and export the contacts in vCard format for Android use.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Head down to https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account
  4. Access “Contacts” and select the contacts you want to share
  5. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard
  6. After the vCard has been downloaded on the computer, perform one of the two steps below:
    • Import the vCard to “Google Contacts
    • Connect the HTC Desire 825 to your PC via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and use “People” to import its contents to your phonebook

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: While the two methods above require access to a computer with an active Internet connection, alternatively you can share your iPhone contacts using third party applications. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up and transfer contacts via email.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
  2. Launch the application and tap “Backup
  3. Once the backup file has been created, tap “Email
  4. Write a new email containing the backup file attachment
  5. Send the email to your own Gmail address
  6. Next, switch to the HTC Desire 825, open the email, and download the vCard attachment
  7. Import the vCard to your phonebook using “People

Via “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party app for iOS and Android, which uses a peer-to-peer connection to transfer contacts and other types of files without requiring a computer. To use this method:

  1. Visit the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
  2. Go to the Play Store and install the same app on the HTC Desire 825
  3. Open the application on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts
  5. Select the contacts you want to share and tap “Send
  6. Select the desired transfer method. You can tap “Receive” on the HTC device and enter the transfer code from the iPhone, or tap “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone and scan the code with the Desire’s camera to begin the transfer
