Turn On Power Saver Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Personal
  3. Tap “Power” > “Power saver
  4. Check the boxes associated with the power saver features you want to be enabled during Power Saving mode
  5. Tap the “Power saver” switch to enable the feature

Disable Connectivity When Unused:

NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Hotspot when not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run. To do this:

  1. Open the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth” and Wi-Fi” switches to turn off these features
  3. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
  4. Tap “Mobile network sharing
  5. Disable “Mobile hotspot
  6. Return to “Settings” and scroll to “personal
  7. Tap “Location” > “Mode” and select “Battery saving

Use 2G Connectivity:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick ways of recharging it, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by switching to 2G connectivity. To do this:

  1. Go to “Settings
  2. Tap “Mobile data” > “Network mode
  3. Select “GSM only

Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “Display & Gestures
  3. Tap “Brightness level
  4. If necessary, disable “Automatic brightness
  5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen
  6. Return to “Display & Gestures
  7. Tap “Screen timeout” and select a lower value, such as “15 seconds

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party applications can affect battery performance even when not in use, due to the fact that certain apps perform regular background processes. By disabling or uninstalling unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings
  3. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “Apps
  4. Access the “Downloaded” tab and select the desired app
  5. Tap “Disable” to turn the app Off
  6. Alternatively, tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to remove the app

Change Sync Settings and Disable Background Data:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your applications and / or accounts to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to, and tap “Accounts & Sync
  3. Tap an application to disable background sync
  4. For additional sync options, select an account type and an account

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Certain software updates can include battery life improvements. As such, it’s recommended to keep the phone’s OS updated at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “About
  3. Tap “Software information
  4. Tap “Check now”. If a new software update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply it
