Back Up Application Data:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
- Tap “Backup and reset”
- If necessary, tap “Backup account” and select “Google account” > “Add account”
- Sign in with the Google account you want to use for the backup
- Turn on “Back up my data” and “Backup account”
Back Up Contacts Using a Google or HTC Account:
- Ensure the phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network
- Open the apps drawer and access “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
- Tap “Backup account”
- Select “Google account” or “HTC account”
- To perform daily backups over Wi-Fi, turn on “Automatic backup”
- To back up contacts manually, tap “Back up now”
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the HTC Desire 630 and PC
- On the phone’s home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down
- Enable “Media device (MTP)”
- On the computer, launch the File Explorer
- Use the explorer to locate the media files on your phone
- Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on your computer
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Mac:
- Connect the Desire 630 to your Mac via USB
- Access the phone’s “Notification” area and enable “Media device (MTP)”
- On the Mac, open the file explorer and locate the media files on your phone
- Copy the files and paste them in the desired backup location on the Mac
- After the transfer is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and into the “Trash can” to eject it
- You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
