NOTE: For instructions on how to back up app data, contacts, and media files from the HTC Desire 630, visit this thread.

Restore App Data:

  1. Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
  2. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  3. Open “Settings
  4. Scroll to “Personal
  5. Tap “Backup and reset” > “Restore from HTC Backup
  6. Follow the on-screen steps to select a backup account and complete the restore

Restore Contacts from a Google Account:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Scroll to “Personal
  3. Tap “Accounts & Sync
  4. If needed, sign in with the Google account containing the backup
  5. Go to the account’s sync settings and make sure “Contacts” is checked
  6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync all

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the HTC Desire 630 to your PC via USB
  2. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
  3. Turn on “Media device (MTP)
  4. Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media file backups
  5. Copy the backups and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder(s) they originate from
  6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a Mac:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Mac and HTC phone
  2. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen and enable “Media device (MTP)” if necessary
  3. On the Mac, open the file explorer
  4. Locate the media files backed up on the Mac and copy them
  5. Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder
  6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone by dragging the virtual storage drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “trash can
  7. It’s now safe to disconnect the phone from the USB cord
