Back Up App Data:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Go to “Settings”
- Tap “Backup and reset” under “Personal”
- Tap “Backup account”
- Select an account or tap “Google Account” > “Add account” to sign in with your account
- Enable “Back up my data” and “Backup account”
Back Up Contacts on a Google or HTC Account:
- Make sure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Tao “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
- Select “HTC Account” or “Google Account”
- Enable “Automatic backup” to allow your phone to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi
- To back up your contacts manually, tap “Back up now”
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC Bolt to your computer via USB
- Turn on “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone and copy them
- Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Connect the HTC Bolt to your Mac via USB
- Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
- Open the File Finder on the Mac
- Use the Finder to locate the media files on the phone
- Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the Mac storage
- Once the transfer is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the “Trash can” to eject it
- You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
