NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on how to back up data on the HTC Bolt.

Restore App Data:

  1. Make sure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
  2. Open the apps drawer
  3. Go to “Settings
  4. Tap “Backup and reset” under “Personal
  5. Tap “Restore from HTC Backup
  6. Follow the on-screen prompts to select a backup account and complete the process

Restore Contacts from a Google Account:

  1. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Personal
  2. Tap “Accounts & Sync
  3. Sign in with the Google account containing the backup contacts
  4. Access the account’s sync settings and make sure “Contacts” is checked
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync All

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the HTC Bolt to your computer via USB
  2. Turn on “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the PC storage
  5. Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder or the directories they originate from
  6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the HTC Bolt and Mac
  2. Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Finder on the Mac
  4. Use the Finder to locate the media file backups on the Mac storage and copy them
  5. Paste the files on the phone storage, preferably in the location they originate from
  6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging and dropping the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and into the “Trash can
  7. You can safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
