NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on how to back up data on the HTC Bolt.
Restore App Data:
- Make sure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to “Settings”
- Tap “Backup and reset” under “Personal”
- Tap “Restore from HTC Backup”
- Follow the on-screen prompts to select a backup account and complete the process
Restore Contacts from a Google Account:
- Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
- Tap “Accounts & Sync”
- Sign in with the Google account containing the backup contacts
- Access the account’s sync settings and make sure “Contacts” is checked
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync All”
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC Bolt to your computer via USB
- Turn on “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC storage
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder or the directories they originate from
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between the HTC Bolt and Mac
- Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Open the File Finder on the Mac
- Use the Finder to locate the media file backups on the Mac storage and copy them
- Paste the files on the phone storage, preferably in the location they originate from
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging and dropping the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and into the “Trash can”
- You can safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
