Back Up App Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal”
- Tap “Backup and reset”
- Tap “Backup account” and select an existing account or tap “Google Account” > “Add Account”
- Sign in with your account and enable “Backup account” and “Back up my data”
Back Up Contacts on an HTC / Google Account:
- Make sure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
- Tap “Backup and reset”
- Select “Google account” or “HTC account”
- Enable “Automatic backup” to allow the phone to perform daily automatic backups over Wi-Fi
- To back up contacts manually, tap “Back up now”
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC One X10 to your PC via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate and copy the desired media files on the phone
- Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Connect the HTC phone to your computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Open the File Finder on the Mac
- Use the File Finder to locate the media files on the phone
- Transfer the media files from the phone in the desired backup location on the Mac storage
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can”
- You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
