How-to: HTC U11: Manage Contacts and Caller Groups; reset the Call Log

Create a New Contact:

1. Open the apps drawer
2. Launch “Phone”
3. Tap “+” and enter the contact’s name in the appropriate field
4. Tap the button under “Contact Type” and select the desired option, such as “Phone”
5. Tap the button under “Phone” and select a phone number type
6. Enter the contact’s phone number and other optional details in the appropriate fields
7. Tap “Save”

Import/Export Contacts:

1. Open “People”
2. Tap “Menu” > “Manage Contacts”
3. Tap “Import/Export contacts”
4. Select to “Import from SIM card”, “Import from SD card”, “Export to SD Card” or “Export to SIM card”
5. Select the desired contacts or tap “Menu” > “Select all”
6. Tap “Save” to confirm

Assign Contacts to Speed Dial:

1. Open “Phone”
2. Tap “Menu”
3. Tap “Speed dial” > “+”
4. Select the contact you want to link to speed dial or use the “Search” field to find the desired contact
5. Tap the button under “Number” and select the phone number you want to add to speed dial
6. Tap the button under “Location” and select the dial number you want to use
7. Tap “Save”

View and Clear the Call Log:

1. Open “Phone”
2. Go to “Call history”
3. Select a call log entry if you want to view more details
4. To clear the call log, tap “Menu” > “Remove call history”
5. Tap “Menu” again and tap “Select all”
6. Tap “Delete” > “OK”

Delete a Contact:

1. Launch “Phone”
2. Tap “Menu”
3. Tap “Delete contacts”
4. Tick the boxes associated with the contacts you want to remove
5. Tap “Delete”

Create a New Caller Group:

1. Open “Phone”
2. Access “Groups”
3. Tap “+”
4. Enter the desired name for the group
5. Tap “Save”

Add Contacts to an Existing Caller Group:

1. Open “Phone”
2. Access “Groups”
3. Select the desired caller group
4. Tap “+” and tick the boxes associated with the contact(s) you want to add to the group, or use the “Search” field to find the desired contacts
5. Tap “Save” to confirm
