Back Up App Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal”
- Tap “Backup and reset” > “Backup account”
- Select an existing account or tap “Google account” > “Add account”
- Log in with your account
- Enable “Backup account” and “Back up my data”
Back Up Contacts on a Google / HTC Account:
- Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
- Select “HTC Account” or “Google account”
- Enable “Automatic backup” to allow the device to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi
- To back up contacts manually, ensure “Contacts” is enabled and tap “Back up now”
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC device to your computer via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate and copy the desired media files
- Paste the files in the desired backup location on the computer
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Connect the HTC device to your computer via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Finder on the Mac and use it to locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the Mac
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can”
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
