Back Up App Data:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Scroll to “Personal
  3. Tap “Backup and reset” > “Backup account
  4. Select an existing account or tap “Google Account” > “Add account
  5. Sign in with your account
  6. Enable “Backup account” and “Back up my data

Back Up Contacts on a Google/HTC Account:

  1. Make sure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
  2. Launch “Settings
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset
  4. Select “HTC Account” or “Google account
  5. Enable “Automatic backup” to allow the device to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi
  6. To back up contacts manually, enable “Contacts” and tap “Back up now

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the HTC device to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate and copy the desired media files
  5. Paste the files in the desired backup location on the computer
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

  1. Connect the HTC Desire 555 to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Finder on the Mac and locate the media files on the phone storage
  4. Copy and paste the files in the desired backup location on the Mac
  5. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can
  6. Safely disconnect the device from the USB port
