Back Up App Data:
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
- Tap “Backup account”
- Select an existing account or tap “Google Account” > “Add account”
- Sign in with your account and enable “Backup account” and “Back up my data”
Back Up Contacts on a Google or HTC Account:
- Make sure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
- Select “HTC account” or “Google account”
- Enable “Automatic backup” to allow the device to perform daily automatic backups over Wi-Fi
- To manually back up contacts, make sure “Contacts” is enabled and tap “Back up now”
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC phone to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC storage
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the Mac and use it to locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the Mac storage
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can”
- You can safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
