Back Up App Data:
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Backup and reset”
- Tap “Backup account” and select an existing account or tap “Google Account” > “Add account” and follow the on-screen steps to sign in
- Enable “Backup account” and “Back up my data”
Back Up Contacts on an HTC or Google Account:
- Connect the phone to an active Wi-Fi network if necessary
- Go to “Settings” > “Backup and reset”
- Select “Google account” or “HTC account”
- Enable “Automatic backup” if you wish the phone to perform daily automatic backups over Wi-Fi
- To back up contacts manually, make sure “Contacts” is checked and tap “Back up now”
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC phone to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Back Up Media Files on a Mac:
- Connect the phone to the PC via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the Mac
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the Mac
- Once done, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it over the trash can to eject it
- You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
