Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Personal”
- Tap “Power” > “Power saver”
- Tick the boxes associated with the power saving options you want to turn On
- When ready, tap the “Power saver” switch to enable the option
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Go to “Settings”
- Access “Display & Gestures”
- Tap “Brightness level”
- If necessary, turn off “Adaptive brightness”
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease the brightness
- Go to “Screen timeout” for timeout options and select a lower value
Turn Off Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use in order to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.
- Access “Settings”
- Tap the “Bluetooth” and “Wi-Fi” switches to disable the features
- Go to “Location” for GPS options and tap “mode” > “Battery saving”
- To turn off Hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
- Tap “Mobile network sharing”
- Turn “Mobile Hotspot” OFF
Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:
NOTE: In case your device runs low on battery and you don’t have access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Go to “Settings”
- Access “Mobile data”
- Tap “Network mode”
- Enable “GSM only”
Change Sync Settings:
- Launch “Settings”
- Access “Accounts & Sync”
- Select an account and change the available settings to minimize sync
Minimize Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps, you may improve battery life in the long run.
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Apps”
- If necessary, switch to “Downloaded”
- Select the desired app
- Tap “Disable” to turn the app off
- To remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
Keep the OS Up To Date:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To do this:
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll down to and access “About phone”
- Go to “System updates”
- Tap “Check now” and if applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update (the update process will require at least one reboot)
