Back Up App Data:
- Open “Settings”
- Access “Backup and reset”
- Tap “Backup account”
- Select an existing account or tap “Google Account” > “Add account”
- Enable “Back up my data” and “Backup account”
Back Up Contacts on a Google or HTC Account:
- Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Backup and reset”
- Select “HTC” or “Google account”
- To allow the phone to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi, enable “Automatic backup”
- To back up your contacts manually, ensure “Contacts” is checked then tap “Back up now”
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC device to the computer via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone storage
- Coy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the computer
- Once done, you can safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Mac:
- Connect the HTC device to the PC via USB
- On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer”
- Launch the File Finder on the Mac and locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the Mac
- Once done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it over the “trash can”
- You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB port
