    On the subject of the V400, I just got one and generally like it, but I
    don't like how easily I can press the button on the side and change the ring
    tone, or turn it off.

    Do you know of a way to lock it down and override those buttons on the side?

    Thanks. Looks promising. I guess I have some homework to do in terms of
    loading software into a phone.

    Does this just disable the beeping sound, or does it prevent the sound
    level from being changed? I want to avoid inadvertently turning it off
    (or on in church, etc)

    I confess that I have not tried this myself, I came across it while
    looking for an answer to my own question (in the "Mot V400 SLV GSM ?"
    thread) and remembered your question here. After re-reading it today it
    looks as though it merely disables the beeping sound, but you may find
