Hi,
I've got a Nokia 3395 using Cingluar. I'd like to set it so that a PIN
is needed to make outgoing calls.
Currently, when the phone is switched on (which it normally is, so that
I can receive calls), anybody who gets their hands on my phone can make
long distance calls for a good while until I can report the phone
stolen and have it blocked.
I don't see any such thing in the manual - any ideas, anyone?
/ Hannes.

Go to Menu / Settings / Security settings on your 3395, and see
if you have an option for "Call restrictions". Many Nokia phones
allow phone numbers or partial numbers to be added to a list
which cannot be dialed without first entering your security code.

Re: Require PIN for outgoing calls?
Yep, I've explored that option. For me to be able to dial any numbers,
they have to be on that list of "allowed" numbers. I guess it's a valid
workaround for preventing unauthorized calls to unauthorized numbers.
But anytime someone gives me a number to call, I have to go through
some procedure to add it that list, before calling it.
The real reason I'm looking for a feature like this, is actually that I
seem to sometomes forget (?) to lock the keypad, and the phone keeps
dialling people in my phone book. If it was asking for a PIN or
something, chances would be extremely slim for it to dial someone by
mistake.
Is there an option to automatically lock the keypad after some time of
inactivity?
Thanks,
/ Hannes.
