For the paranoid amongst us, it looks like Opera will be able to track your
movements around the web, as the pages are delivered from their server. I
think Google is looking at a similar technology and the same concerns have
    been raised.

No, cannot download: error message on cellphone: "invalid jad request"
    ("jad" not a typo)

Yes, I read and scrolled through the end user agreement.

The optional link worked for my tmobile v3
    http/mini.opera.com/my

I downloaded and installed it, but it seems to want to only use port
80, which is blocked on the regular tmobile tzones plan.

    It asks
    Use Data Network?
    http://193.69.116.41:80

There doesn't seem to be a way to change the port.

So not working for me. Does anyone have a solution to that?

I also read through the EULA. Incredible. They don't want you using
opera mini to control a nuclear power plant or any kind of airplane.
Darn, that was exactly what I was planning on using it for! Heh.

    Much.
That wasn't there when I went scouting around, earlier.
I know that the purchased solution that you have is no longer available to
new subscribers, perhaps due to the burden of offering the server portion
of the client-server nature of these (two) solutions.

Whether it was possible to use Opera Mini before or not didn't interest me.
I considered it to be like a deep link into a members-only page that was
    inadvertently left accessible.

Everyone can have their own attitude about that, but it's mine for now.
Elsewhere, I read some stuff about the Cingular V551 not accepting various
..jad downloads, and tricks around that, but I wasn't interested. I was
looking for a freely available (not necessarily free) browser.

It became freely available by last Friday, 04 November 2005.

Reqwireless Webviewer. I think it was probably withdrawn due to lack of a
viable business model; e.g., no carrier deals. The Reqwireless email client
is likewise no longer offered for sale. To its credit, Reqwireless is
continuing to support existing customers, although it's becoming more flaky.

The Opera Mini install .jad problem on the Motorola V551 is now resolved.

I personally prefer Reqwireless Webviewer (when it's working) over the current
version of Opera Mini, but Opera Mini does work pretty well on the Motorola
V551, is definitely of value, and will undoubtedly improve in the future.
