While talking to my neice I thought about something. I live on an
Island Town, and across the river is Canada. In some areas of town my
phone reads "Cingular Extend" due to the fact that it is picking up a
tower in Canada instead of the 5 towers on the Island.
Now think about this? Maybe someone can help clear this up. How come
my phone will work in the U.S. off a Canadian tower, but it won't work
in Canada off a Canadian tower?

Re: Coverage areas
How do you know that it is a Canadian tower that you are picking up? To
be sure, call 611 to get the carrier or send a 7 digit phone # to get
the error code that should list the carrier. I know that with my
Detroit market plan, I have free roaming in AC 519 as legacy service
from Ameritech. I have picked up Bell Mobility on AMPS and Mirocell on
GSM in the Grosse Pointe's on the east side near the water from Windsor,
Ontario. I've found on my 6340i that Cingular Extend includes T-Mobile
even though it sometimes comes intead as Voicestream in the alpha tag.
