looking for opinions on Nokia 3595 and Motorola T720

I just got an upgrade offer letter because my two term is almost up.
Presently, I got the Nokia 5165 phone and I really don't have any complaints
on it. Just on its size and now the wear on the battery is starting to show
signs of not lasting as long as it use to. Cingular given me the choose of
a free phone Nokia 3595 or Motorola T720. I want and looked at both at the
local store. I really don't like the button layout on the 3595 but it looks
like a nice phone. I liked the button layout and functionality of the T720.
At the store the specs for battery life is 4.5 hours talk time for the T720.
That don't seem to bad
Anybody have any comments on the two phones?

i work for cingular and i have much expierience with both of those phone
models, but a little piece of info that you might like to know is that
you are not limited to just those two models. Infact when you upgrade
all you are doing is extending your contract and possible changing your
plan, but because you sign a new contract you are awarded the two year
discount which is good on any phone. you can go to a store and check out
the discount prices on all the phones and see what fits you best.

Brad,
Well the two phones mentioned would end up being free the letter states.
Would that be the case for any phone? Is that what your saying? The guy at
the store I went to today didn't tell me that and I didn't ask. I just
thought its limited to one of the two phones being "free".

I have the 3595, and although the button arangement seems strange, it is
very easy to get use to(I use this phone for ALOT of text messages, so it
isnt that bad)

My two cents on the 3595 when used for the purpose of making and receiving
voice telephone calls:


Pro:

- Excellent RF with good weak-signal handling and immunity to dropped
calls.

- Excellent battery life.

- LOUD earpiece audio and ringer.

- Polyphonic ringtones, if that's your thing.

- Java, games, multimedia, etc. Yawn.


Con:

- Weird keypad, designed for style not function, takes some getting used
to. Supposedly you can interchange with 3590/3510 keymat+case, which have
more standard arrangement.

- Earpiece audio slanted towards high frequencies; can be shrill to some
ears.

- Color display is very low resolution; can look fuzzy to some (ever run
Windows on a CGA monitor?)

- Color display difficult to read in sunlight and when backlight goes off
(no user control on timing).

- Too much sidetone, makes listening difficult in noisy environments as
the noise ends up right back in your ear.


For an entry-level phone it's a pretty good package, as long as its
idiosyncrasies don't bother you too much.

I agree with that other guy: the 3595 is a good, solid entry-level
phone. It basically comes down to whether or not you want a flip. Like
I said in another post, the T720 has given us some issues lately. You
will not be disappointed in the 3595. Most customers don't like the
buttons, but once you change the background and show them the bowling
game on it, they're sold!

My experience with Nokia 3595. I was little concerned with the
keylayouts first, then after a few use, I get used to it now. Though
the wallpaper looks fuzzy, the games video are excellent. Its an
instant hit will all the young people in the family. Someone advised
in the NG not to show the games to kids, I didnt took that serious
then. Now my phone is always withsomeone in the family playing the
games. Its a real fun phone. I got the metalic (dark)tan color. Good
reception, clear sound and good battery life. I dont know about the
other phone, my last phone was motorola nothing fun about it.
