I just purchased the Samsung X427 today to replace my V60i. I am not able to
receive called id name, just the phone number appears, not the name. I have
gone thru the manual and have not been able to determine how to change this
    setting. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Bill

    Re: x427 question

I am not sure about your specific phone, but on any of the Nokia and
SonyEriccson phones I have had, only the number is received on the CID. The
only way a name will show up is if the number that is received matches one
of your phone book, or contact, entries.

To understand this situation.... you're looking for enhanced CID (with
number and name) as opposed to basic CID (number only).

Not all wireless carriers collect enhanced CID data. Even if they do,
not all wireless carriers provide enhanced CID to their subscribers.
Even if they do, not all subscribers have equipment intended to display
    enhanced CID.

To get enhanced CID, three things have to happen... the carrier must
collect it, they must then provide it, and the handset must then receive
    and display it.

From these details, you can now figure out where the problem is.
