Does anybody know where I can get MIDI ringtones that sound as if the person
is singing too??
Sorry if this is a bit unclear, but I stumbled upon a site where one of the
MIDI channels was a voice, and almost "sang" the lyrics if that makes sense.
It was definately a midi file! )

There are probably voice instruments in midi that can do that. To
find out, get a software midi sequencer and the general midi sound
bank map. But whether the *phone* supports those instruments is the
question. Am I making sense? I don't want to give a tutorial on
midi, it would bore you to death.
Here is what I found when messing around with importing midi ringtones
of my own creation: what sounds normal or good on the computer
(SoundBlaster Audigy) does not always sound the same on the phone.
The phone (mine is the T226) seems to have different sounds for it's
instruments, and they definitely don't sound as good as the
computer's. Some of them sound *completely* different. I think that
they came up with a general midi equivalence to lend some support for
the format. And the sound banks are shortened with lower-quality
samples to take up less space.
Which brings me back to my main point: keep in mind that these phones
are not providing high quality midi support, so getting fancy about
the sounds may not work out very well (if at all).
But if your phone has better midi support than the T226, then
disregard my statements and have fun.

Well, the sounds depend on the MIDI device used to play the file. You
would have been using your soundcard's MIDI or a software MIDI player.
Obviously, in the case of ring-tones, it is the phone that provides the MIDI
sounds. I believe that the General MIDI standard defines some 'human voice'
sounds (two choir and one solo?) and that the Z600 MIDI conforms to this
standard. As for how realistic these sound on the Z600, I can only suggest
you try to find the file and try it. It will, of course, only be "ooh" or
"ahh" sounds and I doubt it will be especially convincing.
Otherwise, well I suppose you could create your own MIDI file to test it
out, or get someone to make one for you (if I had the time, I would do it
myself). Dont be expecting it to sound exactly like Kylie or Pavarotti
though...
