I use the serial port option. Set the com port to the port that is created
when you connect the bluetooth serial port. You can conect the serial port
manually if you wish, but you don't have to. When FMA goes to look for the
phone on the com port, the bluetooth software will automatically connect it
for you.

Oops, I guess I should have read heard before making my previous post
<wink>. I am not sure about the proximity stuff. I have never used any of
it.

The port it needs is simply the com port that the bluetooth connection uses.
before it will work, you must make sure you have the SE software installed
and set-up correctly so that the SE phone monitor recognizes your phone is
connected. The PhoneBackup from him works through the SE software and it
must be configured properly for PhoneBackup to work.

Not sure of how to do it through IR or cable connection as I have no use for
either, but using bluetooth, just right click and select "send to" >
"bluetooth" > [whatever your phne name is] and the phone will place it where
it needs to be.

In a way, for the most part, yes. The modem chipsets are typical made by one
company who usually provides "reference drivers". The end reseller of the
modem usually steps it up and writes/modifies thier drivers to add or remove
certain features, tweak stability, etc. Of course comparing modem
drivers/phone firmware to PC software is pretty much comparing apples to
oranges. A more comparable analogy would be do you but a printer with
software capable of doing everything you need to do with your printer?
(modify photos, cad/cam drawings, 3d object modeling)? No. The printers
typically come with some software to do some of that, but usually much less
capable than software you can get elsewhere.

I would hope so yes, but Nokia 3650/6600 doesn't. You can send them off
easily when you initiate the transfer from the phone though; just highlight
all the pics you want to send and then hit send->by bluetooth. I understand
that T610/T630 doesn't allow you to do this (selecting several items and
sending them in one go) so for T610/T630 it IS siginificant that you're able
to download multiple items through File Transfer from your PC.

Send by bluetooth. (or infrared) Just send the .jar or .mpn file(s) to your
phone using bluetooth. Then when they arrive the phone automatically installs
them. Mophun games tend to come in several parts, but it doesn't matter in
which order you send them. There's plenty of sites with downloadable T610
games on the web.

They don't know if it's possible to do it yet, if my memory serves med
correct. I guess the developers of fma has put it in for future use.

Stan, I've purchased & returned several phones over the past 2 months
& found my T616 to be as close to the perfect phone for me than any
others I've had. Among them:
1. Nokia 3650- loved Symbian; hated the keypad
2. Samsung 620- great pics, hated text entry
3. T616- camera is great on a sunny day, love the small size, text
entry is great! It even knows which smiley (or frown) to enter!,
Picture ID works with text messaging, Syncing with BlueTooth is a
breeze. Calendar, notes, tasks go everywhere with me. I hardly use my
Pocket pc anymore. Screen is appealing to my eye (hard to see
outdoors, tho).

But best of all, (info for your wife) I can enter my shopping list,
post is on the screen; the phone is small enough that while I'm
pushing the cart in the store, I can keep the phone comfortably in my
hand with my list clearly visible! ( its a woman's thing, ok?.)

The bottom line is.... I think its a matter of personal preference!

As longa s you remember to turn off the auto keylock so
that you can hit a key to see the screen after that damn
awful screensaver pops up. If you leave the auto keylock
on (most sensible) then the screen goes black and you
can't see your list....you hit a key and you get a stupid
message saying hit more and * to unlock....I know that! I
don't need to be told every single time! So - it's at least
two keypresses every time you want to check the list. Not
a huge problem but bloody annoying.....

Oh for a user-definable time delay before the keylock and/
or the screen saver kicks in.....

Read the note via the note page instead of relying on staying on the
desktop. This way, the phone doesn't revert back to the clock (it's not
really a black screen, it is the clock without the backlight on so it just
appears black in most lighting conditions).
