I have a R289LX phone and just recently purchased a EMPIRE BNH-584-1.2
replacement battery. So far it appears to be dead. I've checked for
paper and other forms of insulators used in shipment but none appear.
The battery contacts mate up with those on the phone itself. Yet when
I plug in the charger I get nothing. Charger works fine with the
original battery.
Any ideas?

Re: Replacement battery
Newer SE phones say that a dead battery (Li-on) has to be on the phone for
up to 30 minutes before it will begin to charge. You might try to wait it
out if you haven't already.
