    Hello All,

When i uploaded jpeg pictures to the memory stick, the phone don't see them.
Also not when you go to camerapictures which are kept in the same 100MSDCF
    file.
The uploaded and the pictures taken with the camera are in the same file,
only the pictures made by the phone are visible.
And as far as i can see the jpeg properties are the same.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance, Rodo

I don't have an answer about that but the point is that you are not supposed
to upload the pictures into that file (DCIM). You should upload them into to
    MSSEMC/media files/image

In that file are standing the pictures taken by the camera. It is the same
with my digital camera (nikon) and when i upload pictures there i can view
them on the screen of the camera. I tried also to upload them in the MSSEMC
etc file, but also there the phone don't see them.

The pictures uploaded to the memory stick must be renamed in the
following format to be browsable on the file manager:
    DSC<any 5 numbers>.jpg
    eg: DSC00010.jpg

    Unbelievable isn't it!?

    Hope this helps.

Totally. I have pictures on mine in all sorts of formats contrary to
what you are saying ABOVE. I can see them all.

My bad, this is what happens when one is trying to post a reply in 2
    minutes during a coffee break!

I think Rodo was asking why he couldn't see pictures transferred to
the memory stick when looking in "Camera Pictures" in the File
Manager. "Camera Pictures" references the following folder:
    DCIM\100MSDCF

However, the inbuilt File Manager does not treat the DCIM\100MSDCF
folder ("Camera Pictures") as a standard folder in the sense that it
will browse all pictures. Only pictures in the format DSC<any 5
numbers>.jpg will be viewable. Try it for yourself and see.

The correct folder that should be used for transferred pictures is of
course MSSEMC\Media files\image which allows all sorts of formats and
    names etc.

    Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Do it in work time, I'm sure they won't mind!!

It does but that folder is for pictures taken by the camera. Why anyone
would navigate past the pictures folder to transfer a pic to it is
    beyond me.

I'll take your word for it! I can't see the requirement to actually do
this. It's more difficult than transferring to the default folder.

    Of course.

How very polite of you! Very refreshing but really not necessary. Now
I'll have to go and kick the dog if people on usenet are being polite
    and not arguing! :O)
