Hello.
I have a Vodafone-branded K750i.
Until Monday 26/09/05 when using the software update facility on SE's web
site, it informed me that I had the latest software version for my K750i; no
error mesages.
Now it informs me that my operator does not support the facility. I assume
that there is a new software version available for the K750i but there is
not a Vodafone-specific copy of this version (with Vodafone-specific menu
options and icons).
I assume that other networks who produced branded versions of SE handsets,
such as Orange UK and T-Mobile UK (with the D750i) have a similar issue.
Are my assumptions correct? Do SE produce a software version approved by the
relevant network?
Best wishes to all.
Stephen.

Firstly, is this the Live! handset or the black one? AFAIK the former will
never be compatible with SEUS. If you have the black one then click here:
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic...=92737&start=0
Specifically:
" This K750 SEUS will currently install the following firmware revisions for
UK phone brands:
Unbranded UK (CDA102338/38) - R1N035
Orange UK (CDA102338/12) - R1N035
O2 UK (CDA102338/16) - R1L002
Vodafone UK (CDA102338/68) - R1L002
T-Mobile UK (?) - R1J002?
Unbranded phones from all regions should update to R1N035 through SEUS."
I have the /68 Vodafone CDA and get the same message as you do so have to
wait for them to authorise the download. Having said that, two friends each
with the /38 CDA are having trouble upgrading to R1N as well (same problem),
so perhaps SEUS is having problems itself?

Hello.
Further to my original posting, I ran the SEUS tonight (UK time) and it has
upgraded my Vodafone(UK)-branded SEK750I to the new R1N035 software version.
One immediate difference I noticed is the icon for "Contacts" (which was the
profile of a person's head in R1L) is now a diary/phonebook symbol. The
other R1N changes appear to be as listed below:
- Video bitrate improvements over R1L (as good as R1A044)
- Improvements to photo quality (less noise in dark photos, improved
viewfinder refresh rate).
- Bluetooth stability improvements.
- Bluetooth security fixes - no longer asks for file confirmations with
paired devices.
- Contrast / Gamma modifications have been made to the display for a better
overall picture.
- Improved reception (the signal strength indicator tends to be higher than
in previous firmwares).
- Increased MP3 volume.
- Backlight doesn't come on again to show time after phone locks.
- Popup menu icon in the WAP browser has been modified.
- Fixed "More" menu when adding addresses to an email message.
Best wishes to all,
Stephen.

Hi, I also have a vodafone k750i and i'm tryin to update the software .
My phone won't update. I follow all the instructions up to plugging in the
usb lead whilst holding the 'c' button but the phone powers up and the
update doesn't seem to initiate.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
G
