I have seen some very nice alternative shells for my SE-V800, but I cannot
remember seeing a guide as to how to dis-assemble the front cover.

Does anyone know of a website or pdf where this is demonstrated - I've had
no luck googling for it, but there are some very nice alternative shells
    from Hong Kong on eBay!

    cheers, DavyPaul

It is fairly self evident when you get the new shell - it is just pressed on
and retained by "bumps" on the inside. You can remove it by inserting a very
thin plastic strip in between the cover and the phone about a third of the
way down and sliding it up and down to release the clips. I had a tool for
splitting iPods that did the job a treat. Don't use anything metal or you'll
    scratch the phone
Having said that, the covers I got from HK were pretty poorly finished and
didn't fit well. I got an OEM linear silver and it looks great (used to be a
    plain black glossy V800).

    Great phone BTW.

Thanks for that! I managed to scratch my old panasonic gd93 by hacking at it
with a screwdriver - My v800 is a year old on 24th December, so I thought
I'd treat it to a change of clothes.

I'm very pleased with it. I put in a 1GB msd card and atm have 5 cd's and 8
episodes of 'family guy' on it - and the card is only half full!

    cheers, DavyPaul
