I used the new version of the SEUS on my K700i and now it won't work,
even though it said it completed OK. It turns on but won't do anything
and intermittently lights up and then goes off again indefinitely. Is
there a recovery mode hiding anywhere in the new version? Thanks.

I can't! The software says 'failed to detect' when looking for the
phone.

Re: Sony Ericsson Update Service
is your phone branded? eg Voda?
is so the update has to be done at a Carphone Warehouse.

I have a V800 and I managed to update it with the SE software.
Doesn't seem to be a problem.
Once I tried to update a K700 with the davinciteam software. But the phone wasn't completely charged and the update want bad.
I had to take it to an official SE center. They repaired it without charge.
I have updated several phones since then with the SE soft and davinciteam, with charged battery, no problem.
