I currently have a Sony Ericsson V800 mobile phone and I am due for an
upgrade. I am in the UK and am connected with Vodafone.

I am looking for a phone that has the following: a big clear good quality
screen, 3G and ability to make video calls, ability to set any sound I want
as the text message alert tone - by this I mean a sound I have transferred
to the phone not one of the standard built in tones. My V800 has been
altered by Vodafone so that I cannot use standard MP3 files as ringtones, I
have to use files specific to Vodafone (files ending with .dm), on the new
phone I would like to be able to use standard MP3 files for ringtones.
Finally I would like a flip phone but this is not essential.

Which phone do you think are good quality reliable phones that meet my
    criteria?

I hope are able to help me.

I appreciate any help or information given.

    Thanks

Re: New phone - please help

Have your V800 unlocked and upgraded to Z800i spec. It's like a whole
different phone and will play MP3's
Failing that get a W900i but not from Voda or it'll be crippled again. It's
not a flip, it has the scissor action SE seem to think people like.

    I've just bought an XDA-mini because I wanted a PDA/Phone but I've kept my
    Z800 as backup.

    Dave.
