I have a K700i and a mate recently sent me the badge of a football club
to use as screensaver / wallpaper. Bit it dispalys as a smaller image
surrounded by a balack border (thick). I tried another one and the
same thing happens, yet on his Nokia it appears a a normal screensaver
    would, with black border.

Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this, or is it just a fact of
    life with the 7000i?

    Any assistance greatly appreciated.

I meant it appears on his Nokia as a normal screensaver does, WITHOUT
    any black border

this is neither a fault nor a limitation of the phone.

Your friends crappy nokia simply has a smaller screen resolution (i.e.
128x128, while yours might be 176x136), so the full screen nokia image
is simply too small to render fullscreen.

You might use your PC to resize it to what your display needs (take a
    look at your manual).

I would suggest not bothering to fiddle iwth it, as it will be a stretched
image... what you could so is just add some extra 'space' to the image at
the top and the bottom so it's in the same radio as 176x136.

If you don't know how to do that, I would give up... it's just the fact your
mate's nokia has a 'square' screen as opposed to yours which has a much
better larger screen that happens to be rectangular.

On a side note, a square is a rectangle. A rectangle is not a square. ;-)

Why not go to the football club's web site, they probably have one, and
download their logo from there and make an own screensaver? I made that for
a friend a couple of months ago, and I even made a complete theme using the
SonyEricsson ThemesCreator. AFAIK, he's stil using it in his phone ;-)

    Hello,

It can be downloaded for free from sonyericsson's website:
    http://developer.sonyericsson.com/si...multimedia.jsp
It lets you create a theme for your phone.
Briefly, a theme is a collection of images and color settings, including
background images and menu highlight images, all assembled in one single
file, "*.thm", and that is selected from the themes menu in the phone after
it has been downloaded to the phone. There are several web sites that offer
ready-to use themes for download, either for free or for a charge. You can
find downloadable themes for free at www.sonyericsson.com or www.esato.com,
just to mention two examples. The themes creator program is fairly easy to
use, but you will need a godd image processing program and some skills about
how to use it in order to success, however. Apart from the artistic skills
to produce nice pictures, you will need to know how to resize and how to
crop images to get the exact sizes of the pictures needed.
