I have an Ericsson 278d and use Cingular as my provider. When I receive a
text message longer than the limit (160 characters I think) I see on my
"Received" menu and indication such as "1 of 2" then the sender's address.
However I can not access the second part of the message. There is not an
option for "Continue" and the message parts after the first are not listed
in the list of messages. So, I can only read the first part of the message,
which in most cases is acceptable.
Today I decided to learn how to read the multiple parts and called Cingular
support (well where I am that is Bellsouth). They did not not have the
answer and in fact I had to repeat the problem to 4 people before one in
tech support looked further and decided the answer was not available within
Bellsouth / Cingular. She put me on the line with an Ericsson Tech Support
person who finally admited that she did not know and said it was not in any
manual or data base that she had access to.
Can anyone tell me how to read whole messages on the 278d when they are in
multiple parts?
Thanks!
Steve

Same as on any other phone: hit reply and enter "M". The SMS gateway
will intercept the message and send you the other sections. The sender
will not see the "M" even though it appears you are replying to him.
Beware that this should release ALL sections, and if you have a
20-part message waiting you're going to get flooded.
The command used to be "m2" for section two, "m3" for three, etc.
