My unlocked SE T200 is only a few months old. I sent it to repair facility
rather than my dealer because it was unlocked. The manufacturing date is
    April 2003.

I just got my phone back. The repair facility could not get me a black face
plate phone. He recommended against swapping covers. So, I agreed on the
condition the replacement will be working fine.

Well, the replacement still has the same reception issues. In addition, the
refurbished phone was made in early 2002. Nobody told met that if my phone
had to be replaced it will be with such an OLD phone.

Should I complain and try to get a newer T200?? I know the phone is still
under warranty, but I am thinking past the warranty period.

Re: ? Quality of refurbished phones

If you read the manual form any major manufacturer, ie Motorola, Samsun,
Nokia... In the warranty section it will clearly state that teh manufacturer
or its agents, may replace any warrantied handset with components or
    handsets that may be refurbished...

The date sticker doesnt make that much difference.. A properly refurbed
handste would be flashed to the latest firmware regardless of date of
    manufacture..
